"Foundation of Righteousness" Original Painting
"Foundation of Righteousness" Original Painting on gold leaf is a 22"x26" piece created for a banner for the 2018 Straz Center for the Performing Arts, "Power to the People" Bill of Rights art exhibition in Tampa Florida. This mixed media piece is a framed panel. Inspired by the 8th amendment, the painting symbolizes the protections we are given against cruel and unusual punishment symbolized by the Roman Cross, and protection against excessive fines, symbolized by the dove. The dove is reminiscent of the affordable fine established for the Hebrews to atone for sin, as well as a symbol of Gods presence and influence in society. The golden gilding is symbolic of Gods providential hand in the establishment of the United States of America.
